31 Day Snap!

Saturday, 29 June 2013

Hello beauties, now I'm an avid reader of Louise's posts over at Sprinkle Of Glitter, and she's been doing a 30 day snap, which is where she uploads a picture everyday of June! I've been wanting to join in with it, but it was pointless starting half way through and would completely ruin the concept so I decided to do the same thing but in July. Obviously it'll be a "31 day snap" rather than a 30 day one, since there's an extra day this month. This means that I'll be uploading a picture everyday from the 1st July to the 31st, plus my regular weekday posts. Ooh, 2 posts from me everyday?! You lucky things! This will be starting Monday, so come and join in on the fun with me!

Love Amy

Maybelline New York Dream Nude Airfoam Review

Thursday, 27 June 2013

Hello, this is the second foundation review I've ever done, well, the second review I've done on any kind of product. I've been worrying about doing reviews because my writing skills aren't the best, but practise makes perfect right?

This is Maybelline New Yorks Dream Nude Airfoam foundation in 005 light beige

Ohhh It's foamy!

Now I brought this foundation quite a while ago and never really used it. A few weeks ago I decided to test it out so I can write a review on it, and here we are now! It's a foam foundation which is very light on the skin, when it's on you can barely feel it. It has a very light coverage which isn't good if you have a lot of breakouts on your skin which need covering like me, although it does leave your skin looking healthy and natural. The only problem I have with this is it practically melts in the rain or at the slightest touch of water or dampness, and it's extremely noticeable. If you have clear skin and just want a glow rather than something that covers your blemishes up then this is more for you lucky ones. It stays on for hours, as long as you stay out of the rain anyway.

The first review (and post) I ever did was on the Maybelline Fit me Set, which you can find here, so check that out if you fancy.

Also, soon the little box over in my sidebar full of happy smiley faces will soon be gone, I don't know when, but it'll soon be on it's way out, so don't forget to follow me here on bloglovin, I'll be writing a post about why soon!

My Foundation Collection!

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

Hello! I've been kind of neglecting my blog over the past few weeks. I've decided that I really want to get back into it now and improve my writing. Of course the only way to improve my writing is by, well, writing! I've kind of given up with my 'Being Happy' Wednesday series thing. Maybe in the future I might bring it back, but I just didn't feel like it was working.

Today I thought I'd show you my foundation collection! Now with the messy girl I am, I appear to have lost an awful lot of my makeup, so this isn't a complete collection, it's just all the foundations that I own that I've managed to find!

I'm going to start with the bottles and tubes!

Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation in 100 Ivory
I'm a huge sucker for Rimmel London and their makeup. This foundation is in the lightest shade, which is perfect for me, but doesn't really work with my skin too well. A shame as it's an almost full bottle but it stays on all day.

MAC Studio sculpt foundation in NC15
This is the only MAC product I own. It's coverage is amazing but it, yet again, doesn't work too well with my skin. This, being rather expensive, was a waste to buy considering there's tons left and I'm probably never going to use it!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation in 100 Ivory
Another Rimmel London foundation, this probably being my least favourite. It lasts pretty much all day, it's not lying when it claims that, but even though it's the lightest shade it's still too dark. I would have hoped that it would have been the same shade as the other foundations in 100 Ivory, but it's slightly darker which is a shame.

Maybelline New York Dream Nude Airfoam in 005 light beige
I love love love this foundation. It's has a rather light coverage, it feels amazing on my skin and leaves it looking a little dewy and glowy. The only one problem I have is that if it rains this foundation will just melt on your face, however it is PERFECT for the summertime.

No 7 Essentially Natural Mineral Foundation in 205 cool shell
This foundation, similarly to the last one, has a really light coverage and leaves your skin looking healthy. I love this since its a mineral foundation and it lasts quite a long time. Sadly this tube is empty and I haven't planned on repurchasing it.

Rimmel London Wake me up foundation in 100 Ivory
This is the last Rimmel London foundation I own, and the one foundation that I use ALL of the time. This is my favourite foundation ever. The coverage isn't too heavy, but enough to hide blemishes. It feels lovely on my skin and is the perfect colour. I use this pretty much every single day.

Moving onto tubs of foundations..

Bare Minerals Original foundations in light and fairly light
As you can see in the picture, the first and last ones are these. (Excuse the fact it says mineral veil, I put the wrong one in the picture!) I've been starting to use these more now. I love the fact they're mineral foundations, which means they're not blocking my pores, and they look amazing on my skin. These are quite expensive for how long they last, but to be fair I can't fault them.

Maybelline New York Dream creamy foundation in the lightest shade
I'm not too keen on this. I'm not a fan of cream foundations anymore, which probably explains why I don't like this foundation. It lasts a long time, but this shade is too dark for me and where my skin is quite dry, it tends to go patchy.

Maybelline Dream matte mousse in 030 Sand
What I said to the last one pretty much is the same as this one. It doesn't work on my dry patches, however the texture to this one is a lot nicer than the other one.

That's it for my foundation collection, tweet me if you would like to see any more makeup collections or if you have any requests as to what you'd like to see n my blog. I'm currently redesigning my blog at the moment so some of the links in the sidebar are wrong.

The June Meetup!

Tuesday, 4 June 2013

On Saturday (1st June) I went to a meetup in Jubilee Gardens which was hosted by 4 youtubers:

It was an absolutely amazing day, I got to see all my friends that I've made at previous meetups again, and thanks to a very confident friend I brought with me, managed to make some new ones. Here are a few pictures from the day!

(Me and Craig, my friend is absolutely in love with him and it's quite funny!)
(My friend and Brad Corey, photobombed)
(Jason, known as veeoneeye on youtube)
 (Sam King)
(Benjamin Cook! I died a little inside when he turned up)
 (My friends arms!)
And finally my arms! This stuff was a nightmare to get off, maybe next time I should take a book and get people to doodle in that, would make everything so much easier!

I wish I could go to meetups, as I absolutely love them, but sadly having a Saturday job does have its downs!
